Fiberglass Belt Press technology from
Hydro International represents the state of the art in dewatering
equipment. The well researched design of the roller surfaces and body shape result in a
product of outstanding efficiency, durability and usability.
Advantages
The Hydro International Fiberglass Belt Press system is unique with respect to its simplicity
of operation, its low operating costs, and the corrosion resistant materials used in its
manufacture.
The system has proved particularly successful in the municipal market for small treatment plants.
As can be seen by reference to the illustration of the unit, it is of a considerably different
design to that normally associated with belt press systems. This is because it has been specifically
designed to overcome high capital outlay and space requirements.
Our
Fiberglass Belt Press is compact and sized specifically to provide economic
dewatering for both industry and small to medium-sized wastewater treatment plants.
Compared to other systems it is not mechanically complex. For example, it contains fewer rollers
and utilizes only one dewatering belt instead of the normal two. Due to the unique and accurate
body shape coupled with specially designed rollers, the problem of belt off tracking has been eliminated.
The main characteristic of the
Hydro International Fiberglass Belt Press system is
its simple operation with minimal manual involvement. Continuous operator attendance is not
required as the whole process can be switched on and off by PLC control resulting in trouble-free
operation with minimal manual involvement. This means that full use can be made of the plant
over extended periods.
The Hydro International Fiberglass Belt Press has LOW operational costs due to low
manual involvement, minimal maintenance and low power consumption (only 0.74 kW).
Compared to Drying Beds, the Hydro International Fiberglass Belt Press has numerous advantages:
1. Sludge can be dried instantaneously without dependency on evaporation or climatic conditions.
2. It can dewater the sludge and transfer the sludge cake automatically to the transport container
without manual involvement.
3. The system does not suffer from the odour and fly problems associated with drying beds.
4. It provides savings in land area requirements and is much more environmentally acceptable
