Introduction
The JFC Hydro-Valve is a vortex flow control device used in association with JFC HydroCell systems for controlling storm water discharge into a local storm drain or water course.


Design
The Hydro-Valve is manufactured to customer specifications to provide a specified flow rate at a given head height.
Operation
At low flow rates, the complex design of the Hydro-Valve ensures that water entering through the inlet passes to the outlet unrestricted. However, at high flow rates, water enters through the inlet with enough energy to create a vortex in the chamber. This vortex maintains the outlet flow of water at the specified discharge rate.
